2023全球6G技术大会

On March 23, the 2023 Global 6G Technology Conference, co-hosted by the Future Mobile Communication Forum and Purple Mountain Laboratory, was officially launched in Nanjing. Leaders from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Jiangsu Province, and Nanjing City attended the conference, along with top industry experts from around the world. The conference focused on four major topics: 6G application scenarios and standardization progress, network architecture and intrinsic security, wireless transmission and spectrum sharing, and integrated space-to-ground technology and on-demand services, attracting significant attention both domestically and internationally.

Currently, in the window period for selecting 6G technologies, major countries, international organizations, and leading companies are actively laying out their 6G research plans. Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Zhang Guangjun, particularly highlighted the importance of international cooperation in 6G during his speech. He stated that the Chinese government has always adhered to an open policy in science and technology and actively integrated into the global innovation network. Focusing on the 6G field, the Ministry of Science and Technology aims to "build the foundation of the future digital world" and support global scientists to collaborate and explore topics such as vision and application, network and coverage, transmission and devices. International enterprises, research institutions, and universities are welcomed to participate.

United in spirit and intent, success is attainable. At the opening ceremony, the Future Mobile Communication Forum officially issued the "Global Joint Initiative for Promoting 6G International Cooperation and Development," elevating the call for international collaboration in 6G to new heights.

Fu Jun, Deputy Secretary-General of the Future Mobile Communication Forum, stated that as global 6G research accelerates and its content becomes clearer, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has already begun to launch comprehensive 6G technology roadmaps and standard assessments, and preparations for the selection of 6G technologies are about to commence. To promote international cooperation in 6G, the Future Mobile Communication Forum conducted in-depth research on more than 30 domestic and foreign research institutions, universities, and enterprises, which confirmed that organizations involved in 6G maintain extensive, deep, and long-term international cooperation and have a strong desire for continued collaboration.

Given the uncertainties that still exist in 6G research and development, there is an urgent need for global wisdom to converge on 6G, build a new R&D alliance for joint research, construction, and sharing, and reach a consensus on various aspects of 6G network technology, including research and development, standards, and application scenarios, to promote the sustainable and healthy development of the global mobile communication industry. This is the core significance of the "Global Joint Initiative for Promoting 6G International Cooperation and Development."

The initiative emphasizes the following points:

  1. Uphold the concept of inclusive intelligence, ensuring that 6G benefits all of humanity, supports global information security, and promotes sustainable development.

  4. Explore new paradigms of global open cooperation, mobilizing funds through multiple channels and approaches to support the establishment of 6G international cooperation projects, focusing on common topics, reaching technical consensus, and sharing cooperation results.
